Property Partner is a London based, real-estate crowdfunding start-up that removes the frustration and complexity from property investment.
Since setting up in 2014, they’ve built a platform that allows investors to choose from residential, purpose built student accommodation and commercial properties all over the UK.
Clients can buy a percentage of a property and receive a monthly dividend in terms of income from the rental income of the property. Unlike their competitors, Property Partner’s investors are free to sell their share of an investment whenever they like, with the added protection of firm opportunities to exit at fair value, creating liquidity in a traditionally illiquid asset.

The context and challenge
Property Partner is an online business. There is no shop front, meaning technology powers everything the business does. Tech specialists account for about a third of the company’s 50-strong team.
With such a reliance on technology, it is essential that Property Partner recruit the best and brightest talent. A task that is exacerbated by the company’s use of Scala, a niche skill in an already competitive market.
Matt Dorahy, VP of Technology and Product at Property Partner explains, “We are a small team, we have about three back-end developers and seven front-end developers.
